ABOUT
OUR STORY
The genesis of our business is deeply intertwined with the personal journey of our Director, Samantha McKenzie.
Her experience navigating vestibular migraine led to a heightened awareness of the detrimental effects of noisy environments. Motivated by this insight, Samantha assembled a team of local artisans and has dedicated years to intensive research and development.
Focused on human-centered design principles, our continued goal is to craft an acoustic lighting collection with a threefold impact: enhancing the visual appeal of spaces while also improving their acoustics and overall ambiance.
Good acoustics are vital for promoting employee wellness and an essential component in collaborative space design in the evolving landscape of workplace health.
Acustico Lighting’s collections play a pivotal role in absorbing and diffusing soundwaves, preventing them from bouncing around the room. Creating optimal reverberation levels results in enhanced speech intelligibility and ultimately fosters meaningful and focused conversations.
We respect our customers investment. It is important that the products we bring into this world have value to its users. We make in Australia, in small batches, thus eliminating the ‘sell lots and fast’ mentality that seems to have consumed our world’s retail sector.
We use predominantly Global GreenTag certified materials, which have the highest NRC available and have an agreement with our suppliers that 80% of materials can either be recycled or repurposed.
As lovers of good design, the Acustico Lighting design team were extremely proud recipients of a prestigious Gold Good Design Award (2019), Victorian Premiers Design Award Finalist (2021 and 2023) and a 2018 international LIT Award for Pendant Lighting Award.
AUTHENTIC DESIGN
Acustico Lighting is a proud member of the Authentic Design Alliance which advocates for promoting the value of original design to support the creators, brands, manufacturers and distributors of genuine products in the fight against design theft.
We appreciate your support by helping to educate consumers and industry professionals about how copies, knock-offs, dupes and replica products can cause irreparable damage to the entire design industry.
